I provide individual counselling in Cairns for adults and young people aged 14 years and over, with telehealth counselling available Australia-wide.
Counselling is for people who feel overwhelmed, emotionally worn down, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel manageable. Some people come because stress has built up slowly over time. Others come during a crisis, after a loss, or when life has changed in a way they did not expect.
My role is to offer a calm, structured space where things can slow down, make sense, and begin to feel steadier.
This counselling service is suited to people experiencing:
Many people seek counselling when they are functioning on the outside but struggling internally, or when coping strategies that once worked no longer do. Sessions are individual and paced carefully. I do not rush the process or push people toward quick solutions.
Counselling focuses on:
For many people, counselling is the first place they feel able to slow things down and talk honestly without being judged, fixed, or pressured.
My work is grounded, practical, and relational, informed by evidence-based and trauma-informed practice.
I work flexibly and draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including:
This allows counselling to be tailored to the individual. Some people want help understanding patterns and reactions. Others want support with emotional regulation, relationships, or navigating complex situations. The approach is shaped by what is most useful for you.

I provide individual counselling in Cairns across the following areas, supporting adults and young people throughout Cairns and the surrounding region.
Each area is approached in a practical, trauma-informed way and tailored to your situation.
Anxiety, stress and burnout counselling
Support for people who feel constantly on edge, mentally overloaded, or exhausted from ongoing stress. This may include racing thoughts, difficulty switching off, irritability, physical tension, or feeling emotionally depleted. Counselling focuses on understanding stress patterns, reducing anxiety, improving emotional regulation, and helping you regain steadiness and perspective over time.
Life changes and adjustment counselling
Support during major life changes such as relationship shifts, separation, health changes, injury, role changes, or periods of uncertainty. Counselling helps you make sense of what has changed, process the emotional impact, and adjust without pressure to have everything figured out quickly.
Trauma counselling and emotional distress support
Trauma-informed counselling for people impacted by past or recent experiences that continue to affect emotional safety, regulation, or daily functioning. This may include heightened anxiety, emotional numbness, reactivity, or feeling stuck in survival mode. Sessions focus on stabilisation, understanding responses, and working at a pace that feels manageable and safe.
Grief and loss counselling
Counselling support for bereavement, loss, and complex or non-death related grief. This may include loss related to death, health changes, relationships, identity, or life expectations. Counselling provides space to process grief that may not be openly recognised or understood by others, without pressure to move on.
Counselling support for NDIS participants
Counselling support for NDIS participants navigating emotional wellbeing, stress, identity changes, and capacity building. This may include the emotional impact of disability, injury, chronic health conditions, loss of independence, or navigating systems and services. Support is provided within the scope of counselling and can align with your NDIS plan and existing supports.
Men’s counselling and men’s mental health
Practical, grounded counselling support for men navigating stress, emotional pressure, identity concerns, and life challenges. This may include work stress, relationship strain, role expectations, emotional shutdown, or feeling unable to talk openly elsewhere. Sessions are straightforward, structured, and focused, without assumptions about how you should think or feel.
Crisis and short-term counselling support
Short-term counselling support during periods of heightened distress or crisis. This may include acute stress, overwhelm, significant life events, or moments where coping feels stretched. Counselling focuses on stabilisation, clarifying immediate concerns, and supporting you alongside existing services where appropriate.

In sessions, you can expect:
Counselling is not about being fixed. It is about developing steadiness, clarity, and the capacity to respond differently over time.
Sessions are available:
I work with people across Cairns and the surrounding region, both in person and via telehealth. If you are considering counselling and want to know whether this service is the right fit, you are welcome to get in touch. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting.
